cold desert

Here's to the minutes that turn into hours, that turn into days, that turn into weeks...

And here we are, March 2017.

The past few weeks have been a blur, and though the time slips away as quickly as it came, thats not to say there haven't been some really fabulous memories to note. In no particular order except how the dates things shook out:

  1. Had my 4th consecutive Valentines day with Brian - which blows. my. mind! Honestly, I don't think that spending my days with this man will ever get old. Yes, I'm one of those people who "doesn't believe in celebrating Valentine's day", but being the slight hypocrite that I usually am, I like recognize the day. Brian was sweet enough to recognize it over sushi and Brach's candy hearts with me. Every year I'm more amazed by him, by our bond and the life we continue to build together. No secrets, no fighting, just good, good love.
  2. Spent two different weekends in the desert: one to visit Joshua Tree and the other to visit with one of my dearest and closest friends, Gretchen in Palm Springs. That trip included venturing to wineries, catching up late into the evenings, brunching hard at the Ace, and relishing our full bestie hearts, and even fuller glasses of wine!
  3. My brother and sister-in-law had their 2nd child! A baby girl, named Hazel. She's heaven. I'm so thrilled for my growing family, but I cant accept the fact that I'm at the age that having children is ok to do. It's going to be a while before Brian and I get in that mindset - we still have so much of the world we want to see and so many things we still want to do, but for now, we have some beautiful nephews and a niece to enjoy. I cant wait to take pictures of the little babes when I visit this month! *heart does a little dance*

It's amazing to look back on just a few short weeks and see how much has changed! Visiting the Desert twice was really amazing - - I have driven through it a few times, but not until now was I able to really embrace the beauty of the open desert. And don't let the sunlight kid you, the desert was a bit chilly this time of year - my very own Cold Desert.

xx, always.
