Warm Moments for Cold Days

This holiday season was extra special for me—I got to step into the role of lead prop stylist. It was amazing to take the reins and help shape the look and feel on set. From selecting the just-right-color-red ribbon, to curating the perfect pinecone and playing with placements, every choice in arranging these festive details was important. Seeing these holiday scenes come to life (both digitally and in print) is a true gift in itself. Happy holidays.

Behind the camera

Most of my time these days are spent in front of the camera helping style and arrange things, but I do miss being behind the lens from time to time. A collections of spaces and places -

As of late...

Am always inspired by the creativity I’m (lucky enough to be) surrounded by daily. Some of Pottery Barn’s recent images for their nature-inspired, earthy greens chapter that I got to assist on. Lead prop styling by Rod Hipskind.

Playing with makeup

Gone are the days of wearing a lot of makeup, but it’s still fun to play with it. Styling and photography by moi.

Journeying

Been putzing with midjourney a bit lately and it is truly wild. What a time.

Putzing

This song makes me want to drive through the city on a warm night with the windows down. There is something to be said for having a sharp knife. Photos using said sharp knife.

You're screaming, I'm screaming.

A pink, cream and green dream I shot the other week as well as some macrame projects I worked on earlier this month

Pandemic

Days are a little different right now. This weekend was my first spent outside our neighborhood. The city is quiet. The buzz it once had is now a very faint, low hum. But for a brief moment at 7:00 every evening, I see it sparkle again. Through the hands clapping, pots banging and our neighbor blaring her rendition of “God Bless America” out the window, I’m reminded that this will eventually end and New York will be here to take care of me.

Here she is: dystopian and yet still magic.

Life

A jumbled assortment of photos.

I woke up early before the city started moving and was able to capture it gearing up for Pride.

We only made it to the beach once this summer, so here is just a tiny taste of what it’s like getting there.

A little bit of Austin, Chillicothe and Napa.

Moving

We are moved in! Officially! This is hopefully our last move for a few years to come. Here are some pictures that I wanted to document - it was a good spot.

Though moving has taken up a chunk of time, I got to shoot some casual engagement photos for my dearest friends!

Summertime

Well hi.  It's June. It's Summer. Life is good. Summer in the city can’t be beat - I’ll take it over a weekend out east any day. Just a few summer snaps to remember.

Running views

Spring's familiar sunlight is quietly creeping through the grey clouds these days and though the shade feels like early February, the sunlight feels like late April - and we are ready for it. I’ve been running more, which has allowed me to see parts of the city that I otherwise would probably not stumble on. Here are some stumbles.

New Year

As the new year is upon us - I don't feel any different but I also feel flooded with resolutions and energy for the year ahead. Here’s to the resolution of going to more museums.

Let us be tender

Here we are strolling into the final months of 2017. When I look back on the last few weeks there are some events that really stick out…

Night photos and bubbles: I have been trying to take night photos recently. One evening I noticed a man making giant bubbles. Though I look back and the pictures don’t do the fun and joyful moment justice - I guess you had to just be there.

What to say when you hear about Shalane Flanagan’s finish time… “Holy moly, that’s fast”. Just like this year. It’s November and kicking off the month is the New York City marathon. It is 100% inspiring to watch, and I highly suggest catching a race, even if you can’t catch this one. It’s one of the best things and is absolutely one of the best weekends in the city ever ever ever ever ever.

Venue shopping. We checked out a bigger venue over the weekend in Queens and it is quite dreamy that I had to take a few snaps of the space.
